Teaching and Education

An industry that can be entered via many pathways, this is an area of work where passion and enthusiasm for the youth of today can make a huge impact on the life and future choices of a child or adolescent

Teaching is a real vocation. To help you decide if teaching is right for you, and to support your application, you should do some volunteering or work in schools both in the UK or overseas.

Teaching overseas doesn’t require you to have to speak the native language. In fact, it’s often preferred that you only speak English in the classroom to help the students learn. Many organisations teach you techniques to overcome the language barrier including drawing pictures and using props.

If you’re not sure which age or subject would suit you, contact schools in your area and ask to observe in a classroom. You should also speak to the teaching staff about the challenges and rewards of teaching.
