National Graduate Week

Public sectors include public goods and governmental services such as the military, law enforcement, infrastructure, social care, public transport, public education, along with health care and those working for the government itself.

Working in this sector will mean you’ll have a real impact on society and work in the interest of the general public. Some roles will require you to work to tight deadlines and have a high degree of responsibility, either desk-based or in the public domain. There’s plenty of opportunities for continuing professional development (CPD) and you may be able to travel regionally and internationally as part of your role.

As the country starts to recover from the pandemic, health and social care are two key areas where professional skills will be in particularly high demand.
